(Recommended for 6th – 8th grade)
Connect your youth to the teachings of the Bible systematically presented in Luther’s Small Catechism.
One of the core values of St. Paul Lutheran Church is that God designed the family as the primary place for discipleship. The Faith Path initiative exists to partner with you as you guide your child’s spiritual journey one step at a time. Age appropriate kits have been created to help you leverage the best faith formation strategy for your child’s stage of development. In this Confirmation kit you will find practical ideas and suggested talking sheets to help you get ready for confirmation.
Confirmation at St Paul is a 3 year ministry that begins in 6th grade and concludes with the rite of confirmation in 8th grade. Enrollment for 6th graders is in August and you should be contacted by the church office to complete your registration.
If you are receiving this kit and have a student that is older than 6th grade please contact the church office. We can discuss the options that we have for those in middle school and high school. Our Adult Introduction to Membership (AIM) Class is offered twice a year and is a great option for high school students and adults who desire to become confirmed members of St. Paul.
STEP ONE: LEARN
You will find a Confirmation Guide that goes through the who, what, where and why of Confirmation. This is important to read through to understand the confirmation ministry at St Paul.
STEP TWO: START
There are also 2 recipe cards (Confirming Your Faith Recipe Card and Confirmation Seeing God Recipe Card) that help get the conversation going within your family. Go ahead now and mark a date on the calendar as to when you will do these activities as a family. It is never too early to start making healthy faith building habits exploring your worship attendance, family devotions, and church involvement.
STEP THREE: TAKE IT HOME EVENT
Every April, families are invited to our “Confirmation Take-It-Home Event.” This event provides an opportunity to connect with other families that will be walking alongside their child during this time of learning, growing and professing. This gives you a chance to meet the director, connect with other families and get excited for this next journey.
If you are a member of St. Paul, you will receive an email at the end of 5th grade with information on how to get the free kit. In order to confirm that your email and grade level information is correct, please e-mail the appropriate information to firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope you find this kit helpful in the process of nurturing the faith of your child at home. Feel free to visit fallsathome.com/faith-path/ to learn more or to determine if your child/children are ready for other Faith Path steps.
