One of the core values of St. Paul Lutheran Church is that God designed the family as the primary place for discipleship. The Faith Path initiative exists to partner with you as you guide your child’s spiritual journey one step at a time. Age appropriate kits have been created to help you leverage the best faith formation strategy for your child’s stage of development. In this Bible kit you will find practical ideas and suggested resources to help you begin the process of blessing your child. We urge you to start today by taking the following simple steps.
STEP ONE: LEARN
We have provided the above video that explains this particular Faith Path step. You will hear from both experts and ordinary families as they describe the importance of learning and applying the Bible to our daily lives. You will also find a Bible Guide that offers practical tips and what we consider the best resources on the topic.
STEP TWO: START
To help you begin your look at the Bible this kit includes a bookmark of the Books of the Bible so you can A) begin to memorize them and B) begin to understand how the Bible is put together.
STEP THREE: TAKE IT HOME EVENT
Every April families are invited to our “Bible Take-It-Home Event.” This event provides an opportunity to hear and learn about the importance of reading the Bible and practice some fun ways to use it. This event takes place during the sermon time of our 9:15 service. Parents and their kids are dismissed from church at the appropriate time.
If you are a member of St. Paul you will receive an email or telephone call around your child’s birthday to set-up a time for a Ministry Team member of St. Paul to connect with you and your child and to give your child a Bible. Prior to this meeting you will be encouraged to personalize the Bible for your child. This Bible will then be used in conjunction with the Confirmation Stone as students prepare to confirm their faith.
We hope you find this kit helpful in the process of forming the faith of your child at home. Feel free to visit fallsathome.com/faith-path/ to learn more or to determine if your child/children are ready for other Faith Path steps.
